2017 Board Breaking Seminar - Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Share your love of Karate with a friend with our first ever Board Breaking Event on November 5th, 2017! Demonstrate and help teach your friend basic self defense skills. Then detail your more advanced techniques before an exciting board breaking show and tell!

An amazing opportunity for students of all ranks to improve their skills, overcome challenges, and have a tremendous amount of fun with friends in the dojo

2017 In-House Tournament - Sunday, November 12th, 2017

Open to NYGKA students only – Green Belt through 3rd Degree Black Belt. Divisions in kata and kumite (sparring) for Green Belts, Purple Belts, Brown Belts, Shodan / 1st Dan Black Belts, and 2nd Dan / 3rd Dan Black Belts. Students are not required to compete in both events. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place trophies, as well as runner-up medals, will be awarded in all divisions. Grand Championship rounds in kata and kumite for under-belts only.

2018 Black Belt Dinner - Friday, May 18th, 2018

All NYGKA students (any rank) and their families are invited to join us for a night of awards, demonstrations, dinner, and dancing, as we celebrate the achievements of the NYGKA Black Belt Class of 2018. Hosted at the Tarrytown DoubleTree Hotel, this annual event honors the incredible dedication and passion of our students.

 2018 “Spring Spectacular” Show/Recital - Saturday, May 26th, 2018

Presented in conjunction with On Hudson Dance’s annual dance recital, NYGKA takes the stage once again to demonstrate the skills and hard work of our students. Blue Belts through Brown Belts all demonstrate the karate technique they've learned over the past year, and Black Belts demonstrate advanced kata, weapons, self-defense, and more!

2018 Women’s Self-Defense Workshop - TBA

Please join us for this special workshop, offered FREE and open to the public. The NYGKA Staff will cover a variety of topics beginning with prevention and awareness, verbal de-escalation skills, and physical techniques that can be applied by anyone, regardless of size or strength.

The seminar is open to teen and adult women throughout the Rivertowns and the greater Westchester County area.

2018 NYGKA Summer Training Intensive - July 11-15; July 18-22

Join us this summer for two weeks of karate camp! Improve your technique, learn new skills and curriculum, plus games, sparring, grappling and much more! Lunch and healthy snacks included in our air-conditioned dojo! First week is White Belt students to Green Belt students; second week is Purple Belt students and above.
